"As a parent of a pre-schooler and educator for over 15 years, I have a vested interest in literacy for young people. With regard to reading instruction in elementary schools, I have observed the pendulum to have shifted through the recent years from being almost entirely phonics driven, to one that is almost entirely “whole language”. The need for a balance is strong, as many young students in the early primary years have not experienced structured teaching in basic phonetic awareness critical to early reading skills. Many parents are now looking for outside tutors to fill in those gaps that ideally should have been taught during the early reading years. I appreciate and applaud the efforts of Rhonda Witt who is masterful at pulling from a variety of approaches with a strong phonics driven methodology. Her program has not only given my child excellent pre-reading skills, but a foundation on which to build more complex, higher order thinking skills. We enjoy predicting outcomes, summarizing and drawing conclusions in our reading, just as he sees modeled by Mrs. Rhonda at school. I have observed my son to have a firm grasp in the understanding that words are made from sounds blended together. This phonemic awareness is essential to further growth in literacy. I am excited to see him attempt to sound out words on billboards and in his nightly readers. Additionally and equally important are skills related to print awareness that so often go untaught- i.e. pagination, reading from left to right, word tracking, etc… I am thrilled to have had my son be a part of a pre-school reading program that has prepared him well for the joy of reading I know is in his future!"

"I taught elementary school for 11 years and I am impressed with the quality of education my child has received. I believe that Rhonda Witt has given my child a gift of a lifetime. My child has a solid foundation of phonics and math that will give her an advantage in learning and her education. An important key factor my child has learned is that it more important to learn the different sounds of a letter than to just learn the letter itself. She has also developed a deeper understanding of math, not just how to count. Beyond the exemplary educational experience, my child has had fun with all of the creative activities. I have been amazed at the outcome."

I cannot thank you enough for starting the writing class for pre-schoolers. Before Brenden began taking the class, he could not write any of his letters due to his lack of hand dexterity. He would become very frustrated when trying to write, and eventually he gave up altogether. After taking your class, I have seen his confidence grow by leaps and bounds along with his hand strength thanks to the exercises you have taught him. Not only can he write the majority of his letters, now when he makes a mistake, he simply erases it and starts over. He cannot wait to come to the writing class every week to learn new letters.
Thanks again,

Two years ago, I would not have imagined that my son, Mason, would be reading, writing the alphabet and doing basic arithmetic before turning five. Mrs. Rhonda has gone the extra mile to ensure Mason’s success. Her positive attitude, high energy and personal approach has made a tremendous impact on the way my son views learning. I am thankful for Mrs. Rhonda’s teachings and feel confident that Mason has a solid foundation for Kindergarten and beyond.

Both Yanan and myself would like to thank you for the effort you have given Alycia. After searching many options to get her ready for Kindergarten we enrolled her in Little Scholars Academy and have been extremely impressed with the progress Alycia has made. We never thought that in less than one year our 4 year old would be reading at a 1st grade level. The reading skills she has gained have made her more confident in almost everything she does. We now know that with the right person teaching and guiding her, the sky is the limit for what she can accomplish. We look forward to seeing what you can help our youngest daughter, Kathleen achieve. Enrolling Alycia in your program was probably the smartest thing we as parents could have done for our daughter. Thanks again and we look forward to having you work with both of our children.

My wife and I put Aiden in Wild About Learning several years ago because we wanted him to get a head start. What we got was so much more than a simple head start. Right away we were very impressed with his progress and with Ms. Witt’s instruction methods. At three years old he was reading and at his last evaluation he was reading at the second grade level, and he’s only five. You’ve probably heard the saying “you get what you pay for”, and that has been something that Courtney and I have said over and over when justifying keeping Aiden with Ms. Witt. Except in this case we, and Aiden, have gotten more than what we paid for. Aiden has truly exceeded the expectations for a typical pre-schooler and now has a genuine affinity for learning. As far as I can tell, there is no better use for the money you could spend on your child’s early development.
